Caitlin Kilroy and Jennifer Morrell to receive NOVA’s Prestigious William G. Smith Scholarship

September, 2012

Caitlin Kilroy and Jennifer Morrell have been selected to receive this year’s William G. Smith Scholarship to attend the NOVA Fall Conference in Philadelphia, October 11-13.

Ms. Kilroy works as a Staff Attorney on the Veterans Assistance Project at the New York City Bar Justice Center.  This Project provides free legal representation to New York City veterans seeking disability benefits from the VA.  As one of six full time staff attorneys, Ms. Kilroy assists volunteers with legal research, answers questions about veterans’ benefits law and ethics, and helps volunteers navigate the VA system.

Ms. Morrell works as a Staff Attorney at the Veterans Law Clinic at Widener University School of Law in Wilmington, Delaware.  Ms. Morell represents nearly 40 indigent veterans in their appeals, supervises law students, and is a valuable resource in veterans’ law for the 70 volunteers at the Clinic.

NOVA would like to congratulate both Ms. Kilroy and Ms. Morrell on their selection and thank them for all the work they do to assist veterans in need.  We look forward to seeing you both at the Fall Conference.
