Long-time NOVA members Robert Chisholm and Matt Hill will be the featured veterans’ law presenters at the upcoming National Organization of Social Security Claimants’ Representatives (NOSSCR) Biannual Conference. The conference will be held in Seattle, Washington from November 2-5, 2016.
NOSSCR is a membership organization for individuals who represent claimants applying for or appealing denials of Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) and Supplemental Security Income (SSI) claims. Its mission is to encourage the highest quality representation and advocacy on behalf of those seeking SSDI and SSI benefits.
Robert and Matt will be providing three one-hour sessions on important topics in veterans’ law. The first workshop – Agent Orange Service Connection Issues – will review the Agent Orange presumptive law and address how to present a case when the presumption does not apply. The second hour – When 60% Service Connected Equals 100% Compensation: Lesson in VA Math – will provide a brief overview of the VA rating system and outline how to prove unemployability. The final session – VA Compensation Effective Dates – will focus on the law of effective dates, what to look for in a claims file, and what additional evidence to submit in support of the earliest possible effective date.
