NOVA held this webinar series in November 2017.

Three experienced practitioners will walk you through the ABC’s of VA practice.  Each session, approximately 1.5 - 2 hours in length, focuses on concepts critical to representation of veterans and their families.  This series is intended to fulfill VA’s accreditation requirements for practitioners that are needed within the first 12 months of initial accreditation. PLEASE NOTE: In order for these accreditation webinars to qualify for your VA Accreditation, they must be taken within the 12 months after being accredited. *CLE Approval for this program is pending in Virginia.

In Session 1 Matthew Hill provides an overview of the VA disability claims system, to include compensation, pension, and dependency indemnity compensation. The process of filing claims, and what is needed to prove them is also covered. In Session 2 Chris Attig guides you through the administrative appeal process, from filing a notice of disagreement to the Board of Veterans’ Appeals to an appeal before the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.
Finally, Session 3 covers other types of claims, such as claims for increase, secondary service connection, extraschedular consideration, and requests for revision. This session is led by NOVA founder Kenneth Carpenter.
