NOVA Seeks Legislative/Regulatory Director

NOVA is seeking a full or part-time Legislative/Regulatory Director preferably in an independent contractor role. Working in conjunction with the Executive Director, the Legislative/Regulatory Director is responsible for supporting the proactive development and cultivation of relationships with key Congressional offices, Federal agencies, and other stakeholders through education-based advocacy in support of NOVA’s strategic objectives. The creation of draft Congressional testimony for review by the NOVA Board of Directors is a critical component. This is a new position. NOVA will consider a firm or a shared work relationship should an individual have another non-competing client.

Basic Qualifications:

• Five to 10 years of veterans’ advocacy work
• Experience working in any of these veterans’ settings or a combination thereof: veterans’ focused law firm, Congressional office addressing veterans’ issues, United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims; veterans service organization
• Law Degree with focus on veterans’ issues a plus
• Familiarity with nonprofit organizations a plus
