NOVA has confirmed the following speakers, who will discuss VA issues of interest with our members at the upcoming spring conference in San Antonio. It’s not too late to register!
David McLenachen, Director, Appeals Management Office (AMO), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) will be the featured VA speaker. Mr. McLenachen was appointed director of the AMO, formerly known as the Appeals Management Center, last year. Split off from the Office of Field Operations (OFO), AMO is responsible for all operations in VBA regarding appeals, including allocation of resources and appeals policy. With continuing discussion of appeals reform and possible expansion of the National Work Queue (NWQ) into appeals during 2017, Mr. McLenachen will update attendees on the work of the AMO.
James Ridgway, Chief Counsel for Strategy, Innovation, and Programs, Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA), will discuss BVA’s ongoing efforts to update technology and leverage innovation to create a more efficient workplace and better appeals experience for veterans. He will be joined by Edward Zech, M.D., BVA’s Medical Advisor, who will discuss his role at BVA.
NOVA will soon open its “Ask VA and BVA Forum” so advocates can submit questions for these sessions.
